Job Summary:

The Warehouse Lumper is responsible for assisting in the loading and unloading of products from delivery trucks, ensuring efficient storage and organization of goods within the warehouse, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. The Lumper will work closely with the warehouse team to support various warehouse functions, including sorting, organizing, and handling goods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Loading and Unloading: Assist in the loading and unloading of goods from delivery trucks using manual labor, pallet jacks, forklifts, or other equipment as required.

  • Product Sorting and Organization: Sort, stack, and organize goods in the warehouse according to the company’s storage guidelines to ensure easy access and optimal storage.

  • Inventory Assistance: Help track inventory levels by physically counting and storing products in designated warehouse sections.

  • Product Handling: Safely and efficiently move products, materials, and equipment from one location to another within the warehouse.

  • Packaging and Labeling: Package, label, and prepare products for shipment or storage as required.

  • Warehouse Maintenance: Ensure the warehouse is clean, safe, and organized. Remove any debris or obstacles to maintain a hazard-free working environment.

  • Collaboration with Team: Work with warehouse personnel to facilitate efficient and safe product handling, ensuring the flow of goods through the warehouse is uninterrupted.

  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including proper lifting techniques and equipment use.

  • Other Duties: Perform other warehouse-related tasks as assigned by supervisors or managers.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform physically demanding tasks.

  • Attention to Detail: Ability to ensure products are stored and handled according to inventory requirements.

  • Team Player: Works well with others and communicates effectively within a team setting.

  • Problem-Solving: Ability to address basic challenges or inefficiencies in warehouse operations.

  • Forklift Operation (Preferred): Certification or experience in operating warehouse machinery such as forklifts or pallet jacks.

  • Safety Awareness: Knowledge of basic safety protocols within a warehouse setting.

  • Flexibility: Willingness to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends, if necessary.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.

  • Previous warehouse or labor experience is a plus but not required.


Physical Demands:

  • Regular lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 50 pounds.

  • Standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods during shifts.

  • Ability to work in varying temperature environments (cold or hot).


Work Environment:

  • Warehouse setting with frequent exposure to noise, dust, and heavy machinery.

  • May require wearing safety gear such as gloves, boots, and hearing protection.
